Made In USA Handcrafted Shuffleboard Tables
At McClure Tables, “Made in the USA” isn’t just a marketing slogan – it’s our commitment from start to finish. We constantly strive to enhance our craftsmanship and maintain full control over our production. We refuse to compromise, unlike many other manufacturers who merely assemble their products in the USA. While I won’t name names, several competitors import entire cabinets and components, outsourcing much of the production process. Unlike others in the industry, we take pride in producing our playboards in-house. While they may handle final assembly and finishing, a significant portion of their work is outsourced, often beyond US borders.
We continually seek ways to improve our craft, and from start to finish, our shuffleboard tables are made in the USA. We locally source hardwoods for our raw materials and then cut, shape, and mold our wood into all the parts used in our shuffleboard tables. The only items we import are nuts, bolts, hardware, and electronic components used in our score units.
Recently, we upgraded the bent horse collars used on our Tournament II and Prestige Shuffleboard tables and crafted them in our own shop. To make this component, Dan, one of our craftsmen, uses several layers of bending plywood, carefully gluing and clamping each piece together with the final outside layer as a premium hardwood veneer. We can now offer these not only in Walnut or Maple as we have always done, but also in other woods like Cherry, mahogany, or any locally sourced hardwood veneer.
This gallery shows some of the steps used to make these horse collars in our craft shop in the USA.
